Marines Lying in Wait

For my brother Marines... A U.S. Army Infantry Battalion was on manuevers, when they paused at the bottom of a small valley. Suddenly, a lone figure came over the top of one hill, and started making offensive gestures and taunts to the soldiers. The Battalion Commander, seeing through his binoculars that it was only ONE Marine, dispatched four soldiers to take care of the troublemaker. After a short while, the soldiers had not returned. Again, the Marine appeared at the top of the ridge and made loud taunts at the men in the valley. Annoyed, the Commander ordered a platoon to climb the ridge and "make an example" of the Marine. An even longer time passed, and the Marine again appeared, alone, asking loudly if that was the best the soldiers had for a fight. Now incensed at being outshone by a single Marine, the Commander sent half of his remaining troops up over the ridge. After a long while, one soldier finally straggled over the ridge and headed back for his unit. "Go back!" he shouted as he staggered back down the hill. "It's an ambush!" he cried. "There's TWO of them!"
